Structural Features of JP Outdoor Distribution Box

The JP outdoor integrated distribution box is engineered for durability, safety, and ease of maintenance. Its robust construction ensures long-term reliable operation in harsh outdoor environments:

Box structure diagram

1. Enclosure Construction

The box structure is available in both vertical and horizontal configurations. The shell is fabricated from 2mm high-quality stainless steel plate using a multi-fold flanging process. An optional stainless steel double-layer composite plate with honeycomb structure provides flame retardancy, environmental safety, heat insulation, and anti-condensation performance.

2. Welding & Surface Treatment

Special stainless steel welding technology ensures high overall structural strength. The surface is smooth and clean as a mirror, with no visible welding traces. Internal mounting beams and plates use a hot-dip galvanized process, guaranteeing 20 years of corrosion-free operation.

3. Door Design & Security

Front and back doors provide convenient access for operation, inspection, and maintenance. Each door is surrounded by a high-elasticity, aging-resistant sealing strip and equipped with dual door locks (visible and concealed/anti-theft). The visible lock includes an anti-blocking, rust-proof rainproof cover. The metering chamber is fully enclosed with a lead sealing device to prevent tampering.

4. Ventilation & Cable Management

The bottom of the box is punched with ventilation holes and cable outlet holes. The top features ventilation channels and wire mesh. Cable entry sleeves on the side of the box prevent rain ingress and foreign matter. This design achieves comprehensive waterproof, dust-proof, anti-rust, and anti-foreign-matter protection, rated at IP54.

5. Internal Components

The cabinet houses an open-type knife switch (isolator), moulded-case circuit breakers, fuses, residual current protective circuit breakers, composite switches, an intelligent reactive power compensation controller, and power capacitors. The main busbar is positioned at the top of the cabinet. Copper busbars, N busbars, and PE busbars are made of bare copper with heat-shrink tubing on critical sections. Power capacitor banks are configurable in either Δ (delta) or Y (star) arrangements.

FAQ

What is the protection grade of the JP outdoor integrated distribution box?

The JP outdoor integrated distribution box has a protection grade of IP54, providing waterproof, dust-proof, anti-rust, and anti-foreign-matter protection. The enclosure is made of 2mm high-quality stainless steel plate with multi-fold flanging process or stainless steel double sandwich plate with honeycomb structure for flame retardancy, heat insulation, and anti-condensation performance. Internal components use hot-dip galvanized treatment for 20-year corrosion resistance.

What transformer capacity range does the JP distribution box support?

The JP outdoor integrated distribution box supports transformer capacities from 30 to 400 kVA. It is available in both horizontal and vertical configurations with multiple scheme numbers (01–10) to accommodate different capacity ranges and installation requirements. For capacities outside this range, custom solutions are available upon consultation with our engineering team.

What is the difference between horizontal and vertical JP distribution boxes?

The horizontal JP distribution box is wider and shorter, typically used when pole space allows for a broader mounting footprint. The vertical configuration is taller and narrower, ideal for installations with limited horizontal space. Both types offer the same functionality and protection grade. The choice depends on the specific pole dimensions, transformer capacity, and site conditions. Horizontal dimensions range from 800×450×700 mm to 1100×600×800 mm; vertical dimensions range from 600×450×1000 mm to 800×600×1100 mm.
