Main features

  • The load of the rectifier transformer is a nonlinear impedance, which causes the valve side winding of the rectifier transformer to contain the current of the fundamental wave and the superposition of various harmonics, and the grid side winding also has a connection with the rectifier circuit The corresponding non sinusoidal current.
  • According to different user requirements, there are various special connection methods on the valve side of rectifier transformers.
  • In order to improve power factor and reduce harmonic current on the grid side, high-power rectifier equipment requires rectifier transformers to use methods such as star angle winding phase shifting, phase shifting winding phase shifting, and autotransformer phase shifting to increase the pulse number of the rectifier equipment.
  • According to different process requirements of users, rectifier transformers require the grid side voltage (such as 220KV) to drop directly to a very low valve side voltage (such as 1KV), and the valve side voltage needs to be regulated on load within a wide range of 5% -105%. 
  •  In order to continuously adjust the rectified voltage, self saturating reactors can be used for fine tuning and current stabilization, and a few also use thyristor fine tuning.
  • In high-power rectifier equipment, the current on the valve side of the transformer is very high, reaching 100kA or even greater. In order to improve the power factor, avoid local overheating and uneven current distribution of rectifier components, the same phase anti parallel technology needs to be used.
  • With the widespread application of AC variable frequency speed regulation technology, the newly developed three split transmission rectifier transformer has emerged. The low-voltage valve side winding of the transformer is split into three independent branches, which can supply power to three different loads, achieving the effect of "one machine with multiple functions", reducing losses, and saving land area.
  • In order to reduce eddy current losses caused by high currents in steel structural components such as fuel tanks, measures such as electrical or magnetic shielding are taken.
