What is a single-phase distribution transformer?

Single-phase transformers are transformers with single-phase windings in both primary and secondary windings. The unipolar switching power supply refers to the unipolar output, that is, there are only positive and negative outputs. Compared with the bipolar switching power supply, the bipolar switching power supply has three outputs, which are divided into positive power supply, negative power supply and ground wire. Single-phase transformers have simple structure, small size and low loss, mainly with small iron loss, which is suitable for application and promotion in low-voltage distribution grids with low load density.

Single-phase transformers with the same capacity are 20% less iron and 10% less copper than three-phase transformers. Especially when the coiled iron core structure is adopted, the no-load loss of the transformer can be reduced by more than 15%, which will reduce the manufacturing cost and use cost of the single-phase transformer at the same time, so as to obtain the best life cycle cost. Therefore, it can reduce the construction investment of the entire transmission line. Single-phase transformers that are conducive to modern production are suitable for mass modern production due to their simple structure, which is conducive to improving product quality and efficiency.
