What are the main technical data included on the transformer nameplate?
The transformer nameplate indicates the performance, technical specifications and applicable occasions of the transformer. Users can choose a suitable transformer based on the information on the nameplate.
The nameplate usually contains the following main technical data:
(1) The kilovolt-ampere of the rated capacity, that is, the output capacity of the transformer under rated conditions.
(2) The rated voltage, including the terminal voltage values of the primary coil and the secondary coil.
(3) The rated current in amperes refers to the line current value allowed to pass through the coil for a long time under the conditions of rated capacity and allowable temperature rise.
(4) The voltage ratio, that is, the ratio of the rated voltage of the primary coil to the rated voltage of the secondary coil.
(5) The wiring method, such as single-phase or three-phase transformers. In addition, the nameplate may also include other technical data, such as rated frequency, number of phases, temperature rise, and transformer impedance percentage.
