Working principle

When the number of turns of the high-voltage side winding is increased, the voltage on the low-voltage side will decrease; conversely, when the number of turns of the high-voltage side winding is reduced, the voltage on the low-voltage side will increase. The tap changer is of two types: reactance type and resistance type, and the insulating medium is divided into oil-immersed type, gas type and vacuum type.
