How to safely transport transformers
Power transformers, as core equipment in the power system, require extra care during their handling. Since these transformers are large in capacity, bulky, and complex in structure, and are usually oil-immersed, caution must be exercised during handling to avoid any possible damage. For the transportation and loading and unloading of large transformers, a detailed investigation of the path and conditions at both ends is required, and necessary measures must be taken to ensure safety.

For the handling of small power transformers, lifting and transportation machinery is often used at the construction site. During the operation, the following points should be noted: First, when using a crane for loading and unloading, ensure that the hook is aligned with the center of the transformer, and the angle between the sling and the plumb line does not exceed 30°; second, after lifting the transformer, the vehicle should be stopped and checked to confirm that there is no abnormality in the balance before continuing; third, when loading the transformer, the bottom needs to be padded with square wood and fixed with ropes to prevent sliding or tipping; in addition, the vehicle speed should be moderate during transportation to avoid severe impact and vibration damage to the insulating parts; finally, when transporting over short distances, the base rollers can be used for traction on the track, but the speed must be controlled and the traction point must be below the center of gravity of the transformer.
