What is the external structural noise of dry-type transformers and its treatment measures?

External structural noise of dry-type transformers and its treatment measures

(1) Dry-type transformers are usually equipped with fan cooling systems, and their abnormal noise often comes from fan failure. Possible fan failures include: "crackling" metal impact sound caused by foreign objects, which need to be cleaned; continuous friction sound caused by fan quality problems, which requires replacement of the fan to ensure normal operation of the system.

(2) For transformers with protection levels of IP20 or IP40, their housing devices may also become a source of noise. If the vibration during transformer operation is not properly fixed, it will cause the housing to vibrate and generate noise. Therefore, when installing the housing, it is recommended to install rubber pads between the housing and the ground and the transformer base to reduce the spread of vibration sound.

(3) The position of the transformer in the power room may also affect the noise level. If you hear a "buzzing" sound that is sometimes high and sometimes low, it may be caused by the superposition of sound waves reflected by the wall. At this time, you can adjust the position of the transformer or add sound-absorbing materials to reduce the noise.

(4) The installation position of the transformer and the quality of the floor or bracket will also affect its vibration and noise levels. If the ground is not solid or the support is not good, the vibration and noise of the transformer will be aggravated. Therefore, ensuring that the transformer is placed firmly is one of the key measures to reduce noise.
