What Is A CRT Type Transformer?

A CRT type transformer, or Cast Resin Transformer, is a type of dry-type transformer where the windings are encapsulated in epoxy resin to protect them from moisture, dust, and other environmental factors. These transformers use air for cooling instead of liquid, are highly fire-resistant, require minimal maintenance, and are ideal for indoor installations or humid environments where safety and reliability are crucial.

Resin Encapsulation:

The transformer's windings are sealed within a solid epoxy resin, providing excellent insulation and protection from the environment.

Dry-Type:

Unlike oil-filled transformers, CRTs do not use liquid for insulation or cooling.

The cast resin makes them non-flammable and eliminates the risk of oil leaks, enhancing safety.
