The power transformer is one of the common components in electronic equipment. Its quality directly affects the performance of the equipment. The following will introduce three simple and easy power transformer detection methods to help you quickly determine whether the transformer in your home is working properly.
🔍Easy detection
After powering off, use a multimeter to measure the input and output resistance of the coil. If you find that the resistance value is zero or grounded, the transformer may be damaged.
🔌Voltage detection
Power up the transformer and test the output wires with a multimeter on the AC setting. If the voltage output is stable, it means the transformer is in good condition; if there is no voltage output or the output voltage is unstable, it is likely that the transformer is damaged.
👀Appearance observation
Check the appearance of the transformer carefully to see if there are any signs of high-temperature scorching. Once the appearance of the transformer is found to be deformed due to high temperature, it means that it has been burned out.
